Evidence of Light
A study of light, memory, and the lives we build around them.
Part archive, part field journal, Soft Cut Studio gathers traces of place, labor, nature, and belonging through handmade work. Inspired by collected botanicals, working tools, found objects, and the landscapes that shape us, each piece begins as an act of attention.
The Practice
Most of my work begins outdoors or at the bench. I gather botanicals, objects, and fragments that catch my attention and use light, chemistry, metal, paper, and time to create one-of-a-kind pieces.
What emerges is less about documentation and more about preservation: a way of holding onto something that might otherwise disappear.
